We are seeking a Cost & Financial Accountant to handle all aspects of financial administration, focusing on cost accounting, budgeting, and reporting. This role will analyze the true cost of operations in the manufacturing industry and provide timely, accurate reports to support decision-making. You will also improve administrative systems to support business growth and cost control.
Working closely with the Director and Management Team, you will help develop sales and market trend analysis and contribute directly to business efficiency and profitability.
Key Responsibilities Cost Accounting: Cost Analysis : Analyze production costs (materials, labor, overhead) to calculate the cost of goods sold (COGS) and identify ways to reduce costs.
Budgeting : Create and monitor budgets for departments and projects to ensure financial control.
Cost Control : Implement measures to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
Inventory Valuation : Manage and report inventory costs.
Variance Analysis : Compare actual costs to budgeted costs and recommend actions for improvement.
Financial Accounting: Financial Reporting : Prepare data for external accountants, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports.
Accounts Management : Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments.
Bank Reconciliation : Reconcile bank statements with financial records.
Compliance : Ensure compliance with accounting regulations.
Combined Responsibilities: Financial Analysis : Analyze financial data to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings.
Forecasting : Create financial forecasts to support business planning.
System Updates : Maintain financial systems with current data.
System Development : Improve accounting systems to support business growth.
Other Duties: Provide financial reports to Directors and Management.
Continuously improve administrative systems.
Assist with additional tasks as required.
Qualifications Diploma in Business/Accounting (required)
Essential Skills Cost Management Experience : Experience in cost accounting in the manufacturing industry .
Budgeting and Forecasting : Ability to create and manage budgets.
GP Statistics : Ability to analyze Gross Profit and provide back-costing on products and projects.
Financial Competency : Competence in financial accounting up to Trial Balance level.
Organized and Self-Motivated : Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
Attention to Detail : Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
Work Ethic : Proven ability to work effectively under pressure.
Preferred Skills Payroll Experience : Experience with payroll systems.
Inventory Reconciliation : Experience in reconciling inventory.
