About the Role: This is a newly created opportunity that reports directly to the CFO which will see you play a pivotal role in managing FPC's financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
This position is ideal for a recent Chartered Accountant looking to start their corporate journey and develop their skills within a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities: Ensure financial transactions for the business are processed accurately and on time.
Prepare monthly financial accounts and reporting for each company in the group, as well as the overall consolidated position.
Manage financial risk by collaborating closely with the Commercial team to identify and analyse potential impacts to the forecast throughout the project lifecycle.
Liaise with external advisors for the preparation of annual financial statements and tax returns.
Prepare quarterly consolidated accounts for reporting purposes.
Ensure compliance with the IRD and Construction Contracts Act on a monthly basis, including GST, FBT, PAYE, and Retentions.
Lead continuous review and improvement of accounting and financial reporting systems and procedures.
Work with the CFO to identify and support the implementation of new systems that improve financial control across the business.
Utilise analytical skills to lead the development of the company's sustainability reporting.
Collaborate with professional advisors to identify opportunities for reducing the company's carbon footprint.
Work with finance and operational teams to support the identification and implementation of sustainability initiatives.
About You: Relevant Tertiary Degree with CA or CPA Qualification.
3-5+ years working in either CA environment or a Financial Accounting role, preferably within the construction sector but not essential.
Excellent all round communication skills.
Ability to thrive under pressure and work towards deadlines.
Some travel may be required for client and project visits throughout New Zealand.
