About the roleWe are looking for an experienced, delivery focused finance professional to lead the Finance, Procurement, and Services team at the PCO.A trusted advisor to the Executive Leadership team, and holding the function of Chief Financial Officer, this is a broad and varied role which will deliver quality, pragmatic advice and support, including to the PCO's Audit & Risk Committee.This is a hands-on role which is responsible for delivering internal and external reporting, budgeting, and treasury functions. As well as the effective implementation and governance of all financial and procurement policies, procedures and systems. You will also be closely involved in the PCO's business planning process, and a member of the PCO management team. This role connects broadly across Government holding relationships with Treasury, Audit NZ, Office of the Auditor General, and Parliamentary Service. In addition, you will lead a team of five: four executive assistants and an accounting technician. The person we are looking forAs the right candidate you will be a qualified financial professional (e.g. CAANZ or CPA) who is outcome-focused, proactive and a problem solver. In addition, you will bring the following:at least five years' experience in a senior finance position at a NZ Government departmentdemonstrated experience of financial reporting requirements in the public sector including Public Finance Act, Financial Reporting Standards, as well as working with Treasury and Auditwith outstanding stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, you'll be comfortable with providing clear and proactive financial and business advice to managers and executive leadersexpertise in best practice government procurement and commercial practicesability to deal with ambiguity and work in a dynamic, developing environmentexperience managing a team who are responsible for diverse functions across the business.If your strong technical, analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills are matched by your ability to communicate, your passion for continuous improvement, structured technical processes, and customer service then we'd like to hear from you!
