The Role:
The objective of the Fibre Civil Technician is to carry out direction from the Connections Supervisor to ensure works are completed as per the design/scope/contract. You will be based in our Tauranga Branch but may be required to work in multiple locations. Minimum guaranteed hours of work – 40 per week.
Tasks include: Scoping and installation of telecommunications duct as required.Use of all installation equipment and hand tools. E.g. Grundomat, Mole plough, Terrasaw, Concrete cutter etc.Pothole by hand or using machines for existing services.Installation of fibre optic cable from distribution point to premise.Basic reinstatement of earthworks.Ensure site is safe for team and public.Undertake installation documentation as required and support other teams to complete documentation.Undertake any other tasks to support the overall Civtec business as required from time to time.Works primarily outdoors at external sites which may be at any location in the Waikato, Taranaki, Bay of Plenty, Central North Island and Auckland regions, on public and/or private property at numerous sites.To be successful in this role, we are seeking candidates with: Minimum 3 years' relevant work experience in the telecommunications industry or other relevant industries with transferrable skills such as civil work / technician roles OR have a relevant qualification at NZQF level 4 or aboveProven experience as fibre civil technician or relevant position is preferred.Physically fit.Willingness to take direction and learn.A Full Driver's License is requiredWe offer a great range of employee benefits including: The opportunity to join an established dynamic and growing organisation who truly values its team.Independent and confidential employee assistance programme.Commitment to health, safety and wellbeing of our team members.Long service leave after 5 years continuous service.Discount and purchase benefit packages with our suppliers.Working for Civtec you are part of a great team of dedicated employees that enjoy a laugh.
