About the role:
With a growing sports programme, we are seeking Expressions of Interest for sports coaches across multiple sports including Basketball, cricket, football, hockey, netball, rugby junior sports teams (teams below Premier level), at the College.
As Junior coaches, you will be responsible for coaching, skill development and pastoral care riders for regular training sessions and games, with support from the Head of the Sport code and Director of Sport.
Duration: Fixed-term contract, part-time role.
Key skills and experiences:
Ensure that the team receives an effective coaching delivery focused on individual and team development for those selected for inter-school competition.
This will involve aspects such as the delivery of structured and layered weekly training sessions, with a focus on core skills, but including aspects of technical and tactical skills, depending on the age group and abilities.
Clear and concise communication to ensure the day-to-day smooth running of the team, creating a sense of belonging to both the team and the college.
Learning and developing coaching skill sets, supported by the College and the sporting code Head.
Coach, support and development of athletes by creating a sense of belonging and inclusion.
Requirements and Attributes:
Core skill, technical and tactical coaching.
Communication and listening skills.
Planning and organisational skills.
Time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks.
Decision-making and problem-solving skills.
The ability to relate to people from different backgrounds.
