Summit Steel & Wire manufacture and distribute a wide range of high-quality steel products including wire farm fencing which is exported to many locations around the globe. This role presents a fantastic opportunity for someone to take ownership of key export geographies and ensure we continue managing and delivering on our customers' expectations. The position will be responsible for understanding market dynamics, responding to customer needs, pricing, and liaising with production to meet desired shipping dates. This role will suit someone who enjoys the diversity of trading in different cultures, flexible work hours and is able to respond quickly to communications for differing time zones. International travel is a key component of the role, however the majority of time is spent based from our Christchurch office. To be successful in this role you will need to be friendly, approachable, disciplined, self-motivated and possess a high attention to detail. You will need to be competent in using Microsoft based software, particularly excel. You will need to demonstrate a successful track record in managing or growing a diverse B2B customer base. Ideally you will have: Several years' experience in a similarly structured sales and account management role, ideally from within the rural or steel products industries The aptitude to build genuine and in-depth technical product knowledge, ensuring customers' needs are being accurately met. Sufficient commercial knowledge to understand export freight and logistics processes. A strong sense of resilience, tenacity, and the drive to succeed.
