About us: The New Zealand Private Surgical Hospitals Association (NZPSHA) was established in 2005, representing the interests of private surgical hospitals within New Zealand.
NZPSHA promotes excellence in healthcare with a mission of promoting, positioning and connecting the private surgical hospital sector in New Zealand.
NZPSHA membership hospitals deliver around 67% of all elective surgery performed in New Zealand. Elective surgery continues to grow in response to the increasing needs of New Zealand's ageing population and the constraints on the ability of the public sector to meet those needs.
Job DescriptionAbout the role: The Executive Director plays a pivotal role in positively influencing the effectiveness and profile of the NZPSHA, promoting excellence and ensuring the Association has a national voice in the planning and delivery of elective surgery across Aotearoa.
As the sole Officer of NZPSHA, the Executive Director is responsible for the overall management and performance of the operational and strategic objectives agreed by the Executive.
A principal function is to engage and communicate at all levels across the sector, implementing and/or promoting the sector's views and Executive positions while advancing the interests of NZPSHA and its members.
The position is permanent full time and is based in Wellington.
Desired Skills and ExperienceAbout you - essential skills / experience: To be successful, you are likely to have a tertiary qualification, have held leadership roles and ideally be familiar with the health sector.
You will have a confident and engaging personality, with exceptional communication skills enabling you to comfortably represent the Association in public forums and media, while building and maintaining enduring relationships with key stakeholders.
Achievement oriented, a strategic mindset, along with clear and effective decision making will be key to working autonomously, under pressure and prioritising urgent deadlines.
Developing annual plans and financial budgets will be natural to you.
