You'll play a key role in preparing and supporting a range of events at iconic venues like the Central Energy Trust Arena, Palmy Conference + Function Centre, and Caccia Birch House. This role involves setting up various venues to a high standard, supporting the needs of event organisers, and ensuring a seamless experience for visitors.This role is based on 40 hours per week but will be on a 5 week rotating roster where some weekend, day, and evening shifts will be required. Flexibility for occasional work outside standard hours is essential.Your focus in this role will include:Ensuring venues are set up according to client specifications, including equipment setup, layout adjustments, and dismantling post-event.Providing direct, on-the-ground support to event organisers and attendees, acting as the main point of contact during events.Supporting the operational and facility aspects of event delivery.Securing and maintaining venues, following energy consumption and security guidelines.Upholding health and safety standards and ensuring a safe environment for all event participants.You're someone with a passion for events and a keen eye for detail. You thrive in a team environment but are also comfortable working independently, especially during early morning or late-night shifts. If you have excellent organisational skills and a knack for customer service, we want to hear from you!Minimum Requirements:A full driver's license and ideally a forklift license.Experience with motorised equipment, such as floor scrubbers or tractors (or a willingness to learn).Relevant experience in event operations, sports club operations, or similar fields is desired.Strong customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.A reasonable level of physical fitness, as this role requires lifting and moving equipment.Basic computer skills and an ability to quickly learn processes and procedures.About usPalmerston North (or as we like to call it, Palmy) is a growing, innovative and exciting city.
