We are seeking an experienced Estimator/Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Chenery in Auckland CBD, Auckland. This is a full-time role, where you will be responsible for providing expert cost estimating and quantity surveying services to support our construction projects. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the financial success and viability of our projects.
What you'll be doing
Preparing detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects
Performing quantity take-offs and measurements from drawings and plans
Analysing and reviewing subcontractor and supplier quotations
Tracking and reporting on project costs and budget variances
Preparing tender documentation and supporting the tendering process
Collaborating with project managers, designers, and other stakeholders to provide cost advice and recommendations
Identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
What we're looking for
Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar Estimator or Senior Quantity Surveyor role
Excellent understanding of construction materials, methods, and cost drivers
Strong proficiency in construction estimating software and MS Office applications; Simpro knowledge would be useful but not essential.
Exceptional attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with stakeholders
Familiarity with the local construction industry and regulatory requirements
