ESOL/English Lead Tutor Are you passionate about empowering English language learners?
FocusFutures is looking for a dedicated and empathetic ESOL Tutor with CELTA to join our team!
This part-time role will see you working with diverse learners, helping them build the language skills they need to thrive in everyday life and work settings.
Role Overview: As an ESOL Tutor, you'll lead engaging, confidence-building sessions that support adults from various backgrounds in their English language journey.
With our focus on practical, survival English, you'll create a safe and inclusive environment where learners feel encouraged to participate, communicate, and grow.
You'll work closely with individuals or small groups, tailoring lessons to address each student's unique needs and progress.
Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver interactive English language lessons focused on daily communication and practical skills.Foster an environment of mutual respect and confidence-building, with sensitivity to cultural backgrounds.Monitor and celebrate learner progress to encourage ongoing participation and personal growth.Provide support that aligns with our mission of making language learning accessible, impactful, and enjoyable.What You'll Bring: Experience in teaching ESOL or related subjects, with a track record of helping adult learners succeed.Excellent communication skills and a deep empathy for learners navigating language and cultural barriers.Creative, flexible approaches to teaching that make learning accessible and enjoyable.A genuine passion for lifelong learning and the ability to inspire this in your students.Why Join FocusFutures?

Ideally, the applicant will be: A trained NZCEL teacher in NZQA English for Academic Purpose (EAP) or unit standardsKnowledgeable about literacy and numeracy and TEC requirements for LNAAT (Literacy and Numeracy Adult Assessment Tool)Experienced in dealing with international study tours and groups or projects Reports to: Team Leader Working week: Monday – Friday (10 or more hours)
