A fantastic opportunity to join our team has arisen for an experienced Environmental & Fire Safety Advisor to provide technical support to the site, based in Rotorua.Based 10mins drive south of Rotorua CBD, Red Stag Timber operates Waipa Mill, NZ's largest timber manufacturing plant, which employs 400+ staff and contractors. The company is fast paced and progressive, producing structural timber for both the domestic and export markets. We have our own Energy Centre and turbines on site, making efficient use of wood waste boilers to generate steam to support processing operations, and enables the Company to export excess power. Our ideal candidate will have compliance knowledge and experience particularly in HSNO management, ISO 14001 certification and fire safety.Minimum Requirements:5yrs+ recent relevant experience in a medium to large organisation on an industrial and/or manufacturing site.A degree qualification majoring in Science or Environmental Management, along with relevant qualifications in health & safety.Practical experience delivering workplace safety training to adult learners.You shall also need to demonstrate:Sound compliance experience, along with professional knowledge of HSNO and fire response;The ability to provide technical advice and recommendations both verbally and in written reports;Excellent interpersonal communication, ability to relate with a professional yet down to earth approach;An organised approach to work, and ability to complete tasks efficiently;A "can-do" attitude with flexibility at times to assist with team events and achieve team goals;Proven reliability, time efficiency and ability to manage own workload as required;This is a fulltime permanent role, with normal hours of work being Monday to Friday, 40hrs/week with some flexibility needed to support training delivery for shift teams, or providing support during any major event.
