Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Employment Senior Solicitor or Associate to join their team. Well established in Southland and Central Otago, this boutique law firm offers pragmatic legal advice to national and international clientele and advises across a range of law including property, criminal, family, resource management, civil litigation and more.
What You'll Do As an Employment Solicitor or Associate, you will be responsible for handling a diverse range of tasks related to employment law. You will have the autonomy to manage your workload while also having the support of a collaborative team. In this role, you'll be involved in a broad range of employment law advice to employers and employees including personal grievances, drafting advice, health and safety, disciplinary and performance management processes and restructures.
What You Bring Ideally, you'll have 3-5 years PQE with experience in and a passion for employment law; however, we would look at someone with general litigation experience who wants to specialise in this area also. Experience with mediation would be beneficial, but not a necessity. We are looking for someone who is:
a self-starter and can work autonomously, with the support of the wider team
experienced in conducting file reviews, legal research and can provide high level strategic analysis of legal problems
strong in their written and verbal communication skills with a strength in building on existing client relationships and fostering new client relationships
a critical thinker who enjoys working through complex employment issues
