Are you a registered social worker with experience working with older people?
Age Concern Canterbury promotes the well-being, rights, and dignity for Canterbury's older people and has a proud history of supporting people in a variety of ways.
This role requires managing a caseload while responding to reports of Elder Abuse/Neglect covering the Canterbury region.
You will be joining a passionate and skilled team, so a collaborative mindset is a must. You will receive regular clinical supervision, a flexible work environment, and pay equity, with a commitment to ongoing education and training.
We are looking for someone who:
Is passionate about the safety of older people,
Has experience working with clients/whanau in the community setting,
Demonstrates sound clinical and risk assessment skills,
Has a strong understanding of professional boundaries and ethics,
Has a proven ability to manage a caseload, prioritise and triage referrals (you will work within a team but need to be able to work autonomously),
Is confident in networking with health and community agencies who support older people – previous experience working with older people is preferred,
Has a knowledge of and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and working with kaumatua, kuia, and whanau,
Has a good knowledge of services/agencies that support older people throughout Canterbury,
Has a willingness to work collaboratively with our wider team, who provide a range of services for older people,
Has sound computer skills,
Has a full driver's licence.

The role is 0.8 FTE (30 hours per week). While you will largely be working from our office in Papanui, there may be occasions where some travel around Canterbury may be required.
