Auckland Council is seeking a Local Economic Broker to lead and champion local economic development within the Otara-Papatoetoe Local Board area. In this exciting role, you will work closely with local board, businesses, and other key stakeholders to identify and leverage economic opportunities that drive prosperity and employment in the region.This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, where you'll have the chance to lead community-focused economic development initiatives and help local businesses thrive.This is a full-time 40 hour per week role, fixed term for 12 months, with some flexible working options available including hybrid work from home and flexibility on working hours.Day to day your responsibilities will look like:Championing local economic aspirations: Representing the economic development goals of the local board and supporting the delivery of local economic development (LED) outcomes.Relationship development: Building and managing key relationships with businesses, employers, and agencies to support economic growth and create local employment opportunities.Sector engagement: Developing strong partnerships with employers and industries in local sectors of opportunity, particularly digital, creative, and emerging industries.Community-focused projects: Leading and facilitating the development of local improvement projects with an economic focus, from scoping through to delivery.Cross-team collaboration: Working closely with other Auckland Council teams to deliver impactful economic outcomes for the local community.If you're passionate about economic development and have a proven track record in fostering relationships, strategic planning, and managing complex projects, this is the perfect role for you.
