The position leads our team of Distribution Planners and Scheduling Coordinators, and also manages operational relationships with Drivers, Carriers, Distributors and Contractors, as well as a variety of internal stakeholders.ResponsibilitiesManage and lead the Distribution Planning team to schedule the delivery of approximately 1bn litres of fuel per year – safely, reliably and efficiently.Ensure the safe delivery of BP fuel through the leadership of the scheduling team, ensuring compliance with BP standards and legal requirements, by embodying safety leadership in all interactions with staff, business partners and customers.Ensure reliable delivery of BP fuel by working with schedulers and the wider supply team to respond to supply issues. Work with contracted carriers and spot logistics providers to ensure that BP’s requirements for trucking resource are met.Ensure efficient, cost effective delivery of BP fuel by embedding systematic management and developing continuous improvement opportunities. Identify and Implement commercial opportunities in conjunction with carriers and the wider supply team.Monitor team performance against KPIs, and review these regularly against business requirements. Monitor and influence carrier performance against agreed KPIs, and ensure carriers are meeting contractual requirements. Lead quarterly performance reviews.Act as the first point of contact for 3rd party logistics providers regarding minor incidents & operational issues. Escalate and manage issues appropriatelyWork across the business to minimise the impact of supply issues, including port closures and unforeseen outages.
