With our high volume, made to order environment, we are seeking a Dispatch Manager with strong leadership experience to join our fast paced, state of the art Highbrook manufacturing plant.
As the Dispatch Manager, you will be responsible for:
Fleet management including overall maintenance and condition of the fleet, equipment and machinery
Planning and executing efficient and economical delivery of our glass and glazing products to our customers and projects
Ensure the timely and accurate dispatch of glass in line with DIFOT requirements
Lead an awesome team, encouraging a high performance culture though safe workmanship
Take an active role in maintaining Health and Safety standards according to company guidelines and New Zealand legislation.
To be successful, you will have the following:
Previous experience in a similar role in the manufacturing or transport industry
Strong people leadership skills with the ability to build trust and respect with your team quickly
A sound understanding of Lean principles with the ability to coach a team along a journey of continuous improvement.
Previous experience in leading and implementing sustainable 5S to create a well organised workplace.
A good understanding of the levers and workings of a well organised dispatch function that deals with high volumes every day
Sound communication skills
Good computer skills including MS Office suite of products
Strong customer service focus - going over and above to ensure our customers' needs are met
Comfortable working in a fluid environment and being able to think on your feet
Be prepared to roll up your sleeves and muck in when required
