Disability Support Worker – Part Time

We are an established family provider set up through Enabling Good Lives philosophy to support a young woman with an intellectual, sensory and mild physical disability to live her best life, in her own home. If yes, we would love to chat.Qualifications and Experience:Essential L2+ health and wellbeing certificate.What we can offer you:A supportive working environmentMaking a difference to help someone develop life skills and learnYou will earn between $24.00 and $35.00 per hour depending on qualifications and experienceOngoing development and learning opportunitiesFunPreference given to someone with:Experience in following a behaviour support planExperience in challenging behaviour preferredExperience/familiarity with New Zealand Sign LanguageCurrent First Aid certificate (or ability to obtain one within one month of starting)Full, clean Driver LicenceExcellent spoken and written EnglishAbility to build relationships with people/communityRoles and responsibilities:Strict adherence to the Behaviour Support PlanWillingness to use technology to create communication aidsProvide support to complete morning and evening routinesProvide support with administering medicationAttend planning meetings and implement ideas for building and maintaining a good and independent lifeMeal preparationFlexibility to work shifts (morning, afternoons, evenings and sleepovers)Provide support at social and recreational activitiesUse online portals/apps to complete timesheets, shift reports etc.
