Director, Research Management Office

Lead strategic growth in Lincoln University's research endeavours through the Research Management Office, advancing research goals and providing operational management and team leadership.
Seeking applications for a motivated Professor to provide strategic leadership in the University through the Research Management Office.
In this role, you will be developing and implementing strategies to maintain growth in the areas of responsibility, contributing to academic excellence and leading people in support of the University's strategy and values.
Lincoln University's Research Management Office (RMO) is responsible for the development and implementation of University-wide strategic initiatives to further grow and protect this research activity and associated revenue and provides advice and support for researchers across the full research funding process.
Some tasks of the role include:
Leadership & strategic directionFinancial management & staff leadershipStakeholder & community relationshipOperational managementThis is a fixed-term position ending January 2028, working 37.5 hours per week based at our Lincoln Campus. The salary range is negotiable from around $142,000 per annum in line with the Professor Salary Scale in the Academic Collective Employment Agreement.
To be successful in this role you will need:
A completed PhD in a relevant field, or other relevant qualifications commensurate with the seniority of the roleDemonstrable leadership in creating, managing and maintaining high performing and collaborative teams of professional and research staff.Experience and the ability to create and maintain connections with the primary sector and government.Project management and project structure skills.Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work with, mentor and lead colleagues from a diverse range of backgrounds.Evidence of an effective contribution to the administration or interests of an organisation including appropriate budget planning and management.A demonstrated record of scholarly research including publication or where appropriate, extensive relevant industry/professional experience.Demonstrated commitment to Manaakitaka and Lincoln University values.As an employee of Lincoln University, you can reap the rewards of working in a supportive organisation with a commitment to equal employment opportunity, diversity and inclusion.
