Mahitahi Trust is a kaupapa Maori-led organisation dedicated to enhancing the well-being of individuals and whanau across health, education, employment, and housing. Grounded in Nga Tikanga Maori, they work to improve mental wellness and life outcomes for communities across the Auckland region. Te ahua o Te Turanga - The nature of the position
The Integrated Health Services Director is responsible for overseeing and leading the Integrated health services - North strand within the organisation. This role involves managing clinical and non-clinical programs and services, kaimahi, and resources to ensure the delivery of high-quality mental health and addictions services to clients. The Director plays a crucial role in promoting wellness, improving access to care, and fostering a supportive and effective work environment.
This role requires a visionary leader who can uphold Mahitahi Trust's Nga Pou e Waru values and to support the growth of a culturally grounded, compassionate workforce.
Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership: Lead and develop mental health and addiction services that align with Mahitahi's kaupapa and strategic goals, with a strong emphasis on evidence-based care and cultural safety.
People Management: Recruit, mentor, and support clinical and support kaimahi, nurturing a culture of professional growth, collaboration, and excellence.
Community Engagement: Strengthen partnerships with community leaders, stakeholders, and referral sources, advocating for mental wellness initiatives and fostering accessibility.
Resource Management: Oversee budgets, allocate resources, and ensure financial sustainability to support effective service delivery.
Cultural Competency: Embody Mahitahi Trust's commitment to integrating tikanga Maori and Nga Pou e Waru into daily practice and contribute to an inclusive environment, promoting positive health outcomes for all.

Nga tino Pukenga/Wheako - Skills/experiences for the role:

Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, counselling, or a related field.
Proven experience in people and/or clinical leadership and/or program/service management.
Strong knowledge of mental health and addiction treatment modalities, interventions, and evidence-based practices.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines.
Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
Commitment to promoting mental health awareness and reducing stigma.
Full and valid NZ driver's license, Police and MoJ vetting.

Desired:

Strong advocate for Maori, for Mana Motuhake and Tino Rangatiratanga.
5 years minimum working experience within a Community Mental Health and Addictions Provider.
