The call for "Nothing about us, without us" is an integral part of our operation.As the Director of, Enabling Good Lives Christchurch, you will lead the EGL team, orchestrating efforts to enhance outcomes for Disabled People, Tangata Whaikaha Maori and their whanau. This role offers a unique opportunity to undertake a leadership position, expanding the local implementation of the Enabling Good Lives approach to extend its reach for Disabled People, Tangata Whaikaha Maori and their whanau.Your directive will encompass providing strategic direction and leadership across the EGL Christchurch team and leading initiatives aimed at transforming the disability support system.This role is located in Christchurch and is a 12 month fixed term opportunity. You will be experienced and confident in leading and developing teams to provide a positive, timely and high-quality experience for Disabled People and the disability sector.Your significant experience providing strategic oversight and high-quality advice will ensure you are comfortable working alongside the GM of EGL to lead the strategic direction of the Christchurch team.You will be experienced overseeing budgeting and financial requirements and your strong relationship management skills will showcase your previous experience working in partnership with a governance group at a strategic level and at a cross government level.You will have demonstrated understanding and commitment to the Enabling Good Lives approach and how to apply this to support disabled people to achieve the outcomes that are important to them. You will also understand Te Tiriti o Waitangi, the UN Convention on the Rights of Disabled Persons, and the Rights of the Child.To undertake this role successfully, you will be a disabled person or be able to establish credibility and trust with the disability community, as well as having empathy and an understanding of the unique and diverse experiences of disabled people.Joining Whaikaha means being part of a whanau that celebrates the diversity that each individual brings.
