Te Whatu Ora, Health New Zealand, leads the day-to-day running of our health system across New Zealand, with functions delivered at local, district, regional, and national levels. It weaves the functions of the 20 former District Health Boards into its regional divisions and district offices, ensuring continuity of services in the health system.

As a Paediatric Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing expert medical care to infants, children, and adolescents. You will diagnose and provide ambulatory medical care for a range of developmental conditions, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and educate patients and their families about their conditions and their management. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional clinical skills, a strong dedication to patient care, and will work collaboratively within a team environment.
This role is a 12 Month Fixed Term, Part Time position, 0.8 FTE (32 hours per week) to start March 2025.
Responsibilities:
Ambulatory paediatric care of children with developmental conditions
Provide assessment, investigations, diagnosis, and ongoing management of children with developmental difficulties
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including paediatricians, nurses, and therapists, to provide coordinated care.
Collaborate with staff from partner agencies around assessment and/or management of children's developmental needs.
Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and case conferences to discuss patient care strategies.
Participate in supervision of junior staff and other educational activities
Provide advice and consultative services to junior staff, SMO and primary care colleagues, and members of the multidisciplinary team
