This is an exciting opportunity with one of Lexel's client who's in search of Development Lead.About the role:You will spend 70% of your time writing code and working within a delivery squad, and 30% mentoring senior, intermediate and junior engineers.Mentor and develop high-performing engineers 1:1s, coaching, and providing professional development opportunities.Identifying strengths and skill gaps for engineers, you will help improve their technical and soft skills.Support as a communication channel between developers, squads and teams.Write efficient, maintainable code in Java and using AWS technologies.Work within a DevOps team to ensure the seamless integration of the software development and operations processes.Help optimise the CI/CD pipeline, ensuring that code is properly integrated, tested, and deployed.Promote and maintain automated tests as part of our development process.This role is ideal for someone who wants to drive the culture of the team in to the future state of things – they are in scale mode (progressed from start-up) and all their roles are growth roles (new headcount). Ideally someone who has experience within an Agile framework and can work with the Product team + negotiate with the product team to get stuff done and set priorities on what is and is not possible in the sprint stand-ups to help achieve their delivery deadlines.Who we are looking for:You will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:Proficient with AWS services like Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, IAM.Understand how to architect and implement serverless solutions using AWS.Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD practices, including how to use tools for continuous integration and continuous delivery.Experience with or knowledge of Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD)The ability to work collaboratively and constructively with peers, senior and junior members alike. Ability to influence stakeholders, strong strategic and analytical skills. Ability to manage risk effectively, to evaluate options and provide sound practical solutions and technology advice.Strong consulting skills with the ability to quickly understand stakeholder or customer contexts. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate technical concepts effectively to a broad audience.Don't miss out on this opportunity.
