The Police Recruitment group is responsible for attracting and selecting quality talent into and across New Zealand Police through a high quality, trusted and transparent recruitment service enabling the delivery of Our Business.
The Recruitment group includes the Talent Resourcing and Delivery team that supports the two operational teams who are responsible for facilitating the recruitment and selection process of constabulary and non-constabulary positions.
As a member of the Talent Resourcing and Delivery team, the Delivery Specialists are the first line of support to the operational teams for recruitment systems, information, processes, tools, reports, and documents. They also support the Director of Recruitment and work alongside the Strategic Workforce Planning function.
From mid-2024, a programme of several recruitment initiatives needs to be developed including the rebuild and optimisation of the applicant tracking system (ATS) for the recruitment and selection of Police Recruits beyond its current state to include other intake-based recruitment.
The Delivery Specialists will lead and/or support various workstreams and be responsible for co-designing, testing, and implementing recruitment initiatives and enhancements. Most work streams will need to be completed no later than mid-2025.
Delivery Specialists will also be supporting Recruitment Team Leaders and their teams with training, trouble shooting, fixes and small-scale projects. Day to day responsibilities are portfolio based including official correspondence, service partner contract management, report writing, system access audits, process mapping, website maintenance and continuous improvement.
These Delivery Specialists will be located at Police National Headquarters in Wellington which is also the home to the Commissioner of Police, the Police Executive team and several key service partners including Brand and Marketing, Strategic Comms, Legal Services, Assurance, Ministerial, Workforce Management, Payroll and Human Resources. Builds effective relationships with all Recruitment team members, service partners and stakeholders.
Supports and collaborates with the Recruitment operational team members to meet their needs and requirements.
Supports the Recruitment Leadership Team with recruitment reporting, insights, analysis, and recommendations.
Advocates and fairly represents the interests of the Recruitment group and its members across other Police programs and projects.
Responsible to plan, execute and implement initiatives, tasks, and requests within agreed timeframes.
Responsible for ATS and recruitment application functionality, design, testing and enhancements.
Responsible to produce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), desk files, workflows, functional process maps and Recruitment documentation in compliance with brand.
Responsible for producing and contributing to project plans and communication plans.
Undertakes extensive and concise research to produce professional written responses to requests including OIA and Privacy Act requests.
Undertakes data / information analysis and produces professional written documents that identify problem statements, risks, mitigations, recommendations, and conclusions.
Ensures recruitment third party and service partner obligations are being met in accordance with contractual obligations and service level agreements.
Ensures recruitment digital and physical records are accurate to comply with legislative and Police policy requirements.

Working in a public-sector high-volume recruitment or human resources environment.
Demonstrated experience in process design, preferable.
Experience with ATS or CRM administrator-level access or functions.
Experience planning and executing projects.
Experience compiling and responding to OIA or Privacy or Ministerial requests.
Experience in working with groups, across regions or nationally. Skills:
Digital literacy and can confidently use of technologies such as MS Excel (Power Query, Power BI), MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Visio.
Communication and presentation skill with the ability to present in a confident and credible manner.
Strong time management and organisational skills.
Strong relationship management skills.
Excellent verbal written and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex concepts to audiences of various types and size.
Facilitation skills with the ability to engage various groups of people for constructive feedback, insights, and ideas.
Project Management skills preferred but not essential.

Utu a-tau | Salary
This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $87,306 and $91,353 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
