Our close-knit community is built on the dedication of our staff, the motivation of our students, and the unwavering support of our parents.About the role:We are looking for a SENCO with recent experience to join our Enhanced Learning Department, dedicated to supporting students with diverse learning needs as well as our gifted and talented learners. In this role, you will collaborate with students, staff, and parents to ensure that learning is accessible for everyone. Additionally, you will work closely with the HOD of the Enhanced Learning Department, the Principal Nominee and NZQA to manage the efficient administration of Special Assessment Conditions within the College. You will be required to teach a 0.2 load and will need to state teaching subjects.Responsibilities:Registered NZ Teacher with a valid practising certificate.Assist the HOD of EL to lead and engage staff, students, and parents.Manage the SAC administrators and specialist teachers.Manage and coordinate all implementation of IEP's.Collaborate with curriculum leaders and teachers to support the faculties in achieving school-wide strategic goals.Work collaboratively with other team members, showing respect, enthusiasm, and commitment.Show a willingness to uphold the special character and culture of Saint Kentigern College and a commitment to the co-curricular programme.Demonstrate a strong understanding of health and safety requirements and role model best practices.Skills:Proven record of experience and success in a SENCO role.Ability to upskill and empower teachers to implement strategies for teaching students with diverse learning needs.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Detailed knowledge of teaching methodologies and assessment practices.Ability to relate effectively to young people, colleagues, and other stakeholders.What we offer:2 Management UnitsWorld-class facilities, learning aids and equipmentCompetitive remuneration, above State base salarySubsidised Southern Cross HealthcareAdditional week's holiday mid-yearStudent fees discountAccess to gymFree on-site car parkingSaint Kentigern allowance4% KiwiSaver Employer contributionStaff wellbeing programmeHow to apply:Applications are to be submitted online using the vacancy link provided and are to comprise a cover letter and current CV (including the names of at least two referees).
