The New Zealand Customs Service | Te Mana Arai o Aotearoa protects and promotes New Zealand through world-class border management. Customs' main priorities are protecting New Zealand's borders and revenue while helping the legitimate movement of people, goods, and craft across the border. Supporting our Group Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Border Operations group. From managing complex calendars and coordinating travel arrangements to providing administrative support, preparing important documents, and liaising with key stakeholders, no two days will be the same in this fast-paced and exciting role. You will also have the opportunity to take responsibility for a small range of internal projects involving both cross-Customs work as well as inter-agency activity. The indicative salary range for this role is between $75,000 to $85,000 per annum. You will have excellent attention to detail and a forward-thinking approach to planning, ensuring that you are one step ahead of the game. You will need to meet the following requirements: (*) As a New Zealand Citizen or New Zealand Permanent Resident, you need to have resided continuously in New Zealand for the last 5 years and reside in NZ at the time of application; OR New Zealand Citizen or New Zealand Permanent Resident who has resided in New Zealand for the last 5 years and resides in NZ at the time of application but may have been absent from New Zealand for periods of six or more months within the past five years, preferably in one or more of the following countries: either Australia, Canada, UK, or the USA. You will be required to provide overseas police certificates for these periods spent outside of New Zealand.
