Credit Risk Specialist

We’re on the lookout for an experienced, self-motivated lender to join our Risk team as a Credit Risk Specialist. The role specifically operates within the Retail Credit Decisioning function of Credit Risk requiring you to have a broad skillset across Retail lending. The role may extend to supporting the Business, Commercial and Agribusiness sectors – your experience in these fields would be considered advantageous.
You’ll work closely with the Retail Credit Decisioning Manager and the wider Credit Risk team, providing a high-level problem resolution and advisory function for the network and key stakeholders. As a Credit Risk Specialist, you will:
Provide consistent and sound lending decisions for escalated loan applications in-line with the Bank’s risk appetite and growth aspirations
Work with stakeholders as necessary around remedial plans or activities to support lender capability and ultimately empower the Bank’s lenders
Support and assist with strategic projects as required
To be successful in this role you’ll need:
At least 2 years’ experience in a lending role
Outstanding communications skills with the ability to breakdown complexity into plain English
The ability to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the TSB network
The ability to think outside of the box to satisfy customer expectations while balancing legislative and Credit Risk considerations
To be self-motivated with a desire to develop broader Credit Risk skills
Quality decision making and problem-solving capabilities
An adaptive, action orientated attitude and a one-team approach
Prior Credit Risk exposure would be an advantage
