This is an exciting role where you will be overseeing the technical leadership on projects and assisting a Team Leader plus a team of 3 Designers/Engineers. You will be working on commercial projects and collaborating with other disciplines from Geotechnical, Structural, Surveying, Planning, and Environmental Services.The successful candidate would have a broad scope to their responsibilities and proven experience within New Zealand, be it within 3 Waters, Infrastructure, and/or Land Development. CPEng is a must, alongside local market knowledge in NZ. You will also be comfortable with the technical mentorship of the junior staff (however not necessarily their direct responsibility).Key technical oversight will include:Review and approve project designs, calculations, plans, and specifications to ensure accuracy, feasibility, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.Ensure that engineering solutions are innovative, efficient, and cost-effective while meeting project goals and client expectations.Conduct technical reviews and audits to identify potential issues and recommend corrective actions.Address and resolve any technical challenges or discrepancies that may arise during the project lifecycle.Ensure all project designs and activities adhere to legal and regulatory requirements, including environmental, safety, and zoning regulations.Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the engineering team.Job security is going to be a huge factor in this role, with the team only growing throughout the past 5 years.
