Counsellor

Be Heard is a charitable organisation dedicated to supporting mental health for young people.  We are looking for a Counsellor to join our team.  We provide free counselling services to children at several primary and intermediate schools across Dunedin.  Our sessions are conducted on school grounds, ensuring easy access for students in a familiar and comfortable environment. As a Counsellor at Be Heard, you will offer brief intervention support, delivering 6-8 counselling sessions per child.  Your work will help foster the mental wellbeing of children aged 5-13, giving them the tools to cope with challenges and create positive, lasting change in their lives. You will have a qualification in counselling, social work or psychology, and experience with children, preferably within the 5-13 age range.  You will have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively.
