We need an experienced Contracts Manager to join the Fulton Hogan team based in Whangarei. Primarily you will manage the day to day running of your allocated projects within the operational team, consisting of field crew, engineers, supervisors and project managers. You will be experienced in management of contracts, including oversight of planning and programming, budget, safety, quality, and environmental performance along with client liaison and reporting. The successful applicant will be an effective communicator who has experience forming strong working relationships with clients, stakeholders, and the wider operational team. In this role, you'll see yourself responsible for managing and leading project delivery of the key construction projects ensuring profitable, compliant, and efficient delivery of the works. Overlooking a team of 10-30 field staff and subcontractors, plant, and equipment. We have multiple long-term infrastructure, construction, renewal, and maintenance contracts secured. Ideally you will have underground utilities construction / installation experience in the three waters space (water, wastewater, and stormwater). Other underground utilities operations or general civil construction will also be considered beneficial. Day to day responsibilities include: Job management Resource planning and allocation Cost management / Job costing Claiming Technical engineering Safety quality and environmental compliance Staff management development and training Maintain strong working relationship with clients Respond to and resolve customer queries What you'll bring to the table We're looking for someone with a minimum of 5 years' experience working in construction and infrastructure, a minimum of 2 years' experience in a contract management role or similar. A diploma in civil engineering or equivalent is advantageous, and of course experience in building and leading a team. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required with proven organisational and time management skills.
