Wairarapa Hospital provides secondary services for a population of approximately 50,000, offering 24-hour acute and elective care in various medical fields.
We are seeking a specialist to join our Department of Medicine, currently providing General Internal Medical inpatient and outpatient services plus a range of sub-specialty services. An interest in respiratory medicine would be an advantage.
This is a full-time position working 64 hours per fortnight (0.8 FTE) with an on-call requirement of 1:6.
You will require a strong commitment to comprehensive care within General Internal Medicine, including full involvement in the acute roster for admission and ongoing care of undifferentiated acute adult hospital presentations. The opportunity to develop a more specialist interest in a sub-specialty of General Medicine would be encouraged. You will be eligible for Vocational Scope Registration with the New Zealand Medical Council. Consideration would be given to appointing a Medical Officer (MOSS) with extensive experience in medicine. A diploma in internal medicine and experience in supporting an HDU setting would be advantageous.
