Seeking a consultant in chemical pathology for a tertiary laboratory in Auckland, New Zealand's commercial capital and largest city. 50 hour working week with attractive compensation package including relocation expenses.
Position Highlights
Work with NZ's largest and most highly specialised hospital-based laboratory service.
International Accreditation New Zealand (IANZ) accredited laboratory and a major referral medical laboratory in New Zealand for specialised laboratory tests providing tertiary and quaternary laboratory services to the greater Auckland and Northland region.
Test referrals originate from hospitals, community laboratories, and research units throughout New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.
Contribute to general service provision across a very broad range of tests in automation and specialist chemistry.
Perform esoteric testing in areas such as chromatography/toxicology, trace elements, proteins, and paediatric/metabolic biochemistry, as well as service provision for three national screening programmes (colorectal cancer, newborn metabolic, and antenatal screening).
Interest and experience in one or more of these areas would be a significant advantage.
Work up to 50 hours per week, on call and rostered hours.
Lab is RCPA accredited for training.
Professional Requirements
FRCPA or equivalent specialist qualification.
Eligibility for vocational or provisional vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
Remuneration Package
Competitive remuneration package based upon level of experience and qualifications comprising basic salary and allowances NZD 200,000 - 350,000 PA based upon ASMS agreement.
Refund of medical practice expenses.
Superannuation 6%.
6 weeks annual leave.
Study leave 10 days and NZD 16k pa.
