Tradestaff Global is actively recruiting qualified CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISORS with commercial construction experience to work on McMurdo Station in Antarctica, for Winter 2025. Start dates are mid January 2025 and finish in September 2025. These roles are not for the faint hearted; you'll be staying for months in one of the most isolated – but beautiful - places in the world. WHAT'S ON OFFER? Flights provided from any major NZ airport. Food, shared accommodation, travel insurance provided. $87.23 per hour. Contract basis, paid fortnightly in NZ$, paid for 54 hours a week. All PPE Supplied. Construction in Antarctica is like nowhere else, and all the roles need hard working team players who are happy to pitch in on the tools, do the basics, do the mahi and look out for each other. You'll work on a large commercial construction building project which will involve all aspects of commercial building. As a key player in our senior team, you will have a Level 5 carpentry qualification and be comfortable utilizing your written and verbal communication skills to interact with various internal teams as well as clients. Your role will include: Leading the Construction: Overseeing the development of a major new lodging building from the ground up. Leading a Team: Inspiring and guiding a dynamic team of professionals. Hands-On Leadership: Ready to roll up your sleeves and pitch in wherever needed. Coordinating Operations: Conducting pre-start meetings, site inspections, and generating detailed reports. Material Management: Efficiently organizing and managing construction materials. Strategic Planning: Overseeing logistics and planning to ensure smooth project execution. WHAT'S THE CATCH? Due to travel restrictions, ONLY New Zealand and US Citizens with New Zealand or US passports currently and permanently living and working in New Zealand can apply. You must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. You're on the ice for a long time, these roles are not 'fly in fly out' / FIFO. You'll work long hours, six days out of seven. Start dates are approximate and are subject to you passing medical and dental checks, getting security clearance, your notice period and ice flight availability. You must pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test. You need a Full Class 1 NZ Driver Licence and a clean criminal record.
