Are you seeking a summer work opportunity? Opotiki District Council is seeking a Compliance Officer to join our Strategy and Development Group. You will be a part of a team who is passionate about delivering on safety and compliance.
Responsibilities: This is a fixed term 6 month role that will require flexibility to work weekends and some public holidays. Across the period you will be responsible for monitoring freedom camping, enforcement of freedom camping bylaws, handling complaints or queries and establishing positive relationships with visitors and residents of the district.
You will be responsible for: Undertake physical monitoring of sites and engagement with communityMaintaining accurate record within Council databaseResponding to complaints and carrying out investigations in a professional mannerEnforcement of relevant Acts, Policies and ProceduresSupporting the overall compliance team with general enforcement mattersMaintaining positive relationships with the communityIdeally you will have: Experience in a compliance/enforcement role is an advantageAn ability communicate calmly and professionallyUnderstanding and commitment to customer serviceExcellent interpersonal skillsSome computing and technology skillsA current Driver's LicenseApplications close Tuesday, 26 November 2024 at 4pm.
