This role requires you to be a Registered Social Worker who thrives on working collaboratively within the community to make a difference every day. You will meet people of all ages and experience, wanting to engage with a professional who holds a non-judgemental attitude towards their situation, someone who will go the extra mile to help them reach their goals and who lives the values of Love, Hope and Energy that underpin everything that happens within CAPS.
You will work as part of a supportive multi-disciplinary team who work together, providing each other with the support required to undertake this challenging and rewarding work.
Skills you would require to be successful in this role:
A Social Work qualification and Social Work Registration
Experience of working alongside children, young people, adults, family and whanau
Commitment to bi-cultural practice and sound knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and how this applies to and guides social work practice and interventions
An understanding of the impacts of family violence, sexual violence and other forms of abuse
Excellent listening, communication and relationship/rapport building skills
Comfortable with working on your own as well as part of a team, in a client led, non-judgemental way
The ability to demonstrate initiative, good judgement and flexibility
Excellent time management and organisational skills
Have a proven record of maintaining confidentiality and working within the ethical parameters of the social work registration board
The ability to utilise I.T. systems including a web based data base
The ability to maintain appropriate client records and provide reports as required
A full and clean Drivers License
This position is classed as a Core Worker and will need to pass a safety check, inclusive of Police Vetting, under the Children's Act 2014
