Community Mental Health Nurse - Taumarunui Job Number : RUA00005 Where you'll be working: Rural south sector - Taumarunui base The details: Permanent - Full time however part time will be considered – flexible hours Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity This is a diverse and exciting role working with Tangata whia ora who live in this beautiful rural part of the Waikato.
In this role you will provide assessment and treatment for people with acute or enduring mental illness in the community.
Reporting to the CNM, you will hold a case load of approx 30 people as part of the MDT.
The local team is made up of a Consultant Psychiatrist, a Social Worker and this nursing role.
The MDT includes clinicians who visit weekly or fortnightly - occupational therapy, clinical psychology, nursing, Kaitakwaenga and CAD's.
Our team is made up of 44 clinicians who are passionate about providing the best community mental health service possible.

Key responsibilities of the role: Organise, prioritise and manage a caseload including the documentation associated with this.
Clear communication with MDT wider team and community partners.
Be a DAO or have an interest in becoming one.
Practice with a tangata whaiora and whanau centred approach and be a strong advocate for best practice.
Mou | About you Skills and experience you'll need to be considered for the role: Passionate about working with tangata whai ora and whanau, and have mental health experience.
Knowledge and understanding of Te Tiriti O Waitangi.
Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand.
At least 1 year experience working in an acute or community mental health setting.
A current full drivers licence.
