Coach to lead change in mental health education Full time, PermanentPrimary and intermediate (Years 1–8) / kura tuatahi, Certificated teacherHealth and physical educationThis is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of thousands of New Zealanders by leading a system change where tamariki grow up developing an understanding of how to take care of theirs and other's mental health and wellbeing.We are looking for a coach based in Waikato who is a dynamic, passionate senior teacher with recent experience of teaching in Y1-8, wanting to be part of a team of coaches to assist with the implementation of Mitey, an exciting and innovative school wide approach to mental health education. Experience in multicultural schools or using Maori and Pasifika education approaches, is valuable.Working in a fully supported environment you will work alongside schools to implement Mitey – www.mitey.org.nz , a world class, whole school, research based approach to mental health education. You will be forward-focused, thoughtful and collaborative, embracing the freedom to provide your input into the implementation of Mitey.You will work in partnership with schools to assess what a school is already doing in the area of mental health and how the school can be supported to build on and strengthen leadership, policy, community engagement and curriculum in this area.
