ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) is the specialized agency of the United Nations that promotes industrial development for poverty reduction, inclusive globalization, and environmental sustainability. UNIDO's mandate is fully recognized in SDG-9, which calls to "Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation".
PROJECT CONTEXT Poverty Alleviation and Inclusive Development Across Rural Sindh (PAIDAR) is a five-year programme funded by the European Union to support the Government of Sindh (GoS), Pakistan in the implementation of its Poverty Reduction Strategy (PRS). The long-term objective of PAIDAR is to contribute to sustainable poverty reduction and improvement of livelihoods of poor women, men, and young people across the Sindh province.
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES The Cluster Development Agent (CDA) is the local PAIDAR personnel in target districts who would be instrumental in the achievement of programme objectives. The CDA will support and contribute to the following:
Stakeholder management: The CDA will work with a range of actors from the public sector, private sector, and civil society.Assessment and investigation: The CDA must use various resources to build knowledge of livelihood challenges and opportunities.Building common vision: The CDA will share information and knowledge with stakeholders to foster a common vision for local economic development.Turning vision into action: The CDA will assist in development initiatives to address identified challenges and opportunities.Mobilizing technical assistance: The CDA will support planning and coordinating delivery of technical assistance.Mobilizing financial support: The CDA can assist stakeholders in turning initiatives into grant proposals.Monitoring and evaluation: The CDA will support continuous monitoring and evaluation activities.Communication: The CDA will perform communication and outreach activities to ensure relevant information reaches stakeholders.MINIMUM ORGANIZATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Education: Advanced university degree (master's degree or equivalent) in relevant disciplines is required.
Technical and Functional Experience: At least one (1) year of work experience in the relevant field is required.Computer proficiency for preparation of reports/presentations is required.Languages: Fluency in written and spoken English and Urdu is required.
