About the Role
You will play a key role in providing specialist nursing care, support, and advice, both in hospital, remotely, and in the homes of children with chronic and/or complex medical conditions. This is a unique opportunity to work in a highly skilled, dynamic, and supportive multi-disciplinary team. The senior leadership team within Child health sees this as a development opportunity to enhance and build on existing skills preparing you for the future.
The CNS also provides specialist nursing information, support, and education to a variety of health care professionals to enable the child to be cared for at home. This is a rewarding and dynamic position, which has a significant role in empowering tamariki and their whanau.
Day to day you will be working with a team of senior nurses who have a vast and wide experience in Child Health, working alongside Paediatricians and the wider MDT team.

The Waikids homecare team is committed to working in partnership with children who have complex health conditions and their families to ensure that high-quality healthcare is provided across the care continuum. This involves care coordination and case management in both primary and secondary healthcare as well as education and other community settings. Our success is driven by our commitment to support children and families living with complex health needs to reach their health potential, participate in their communities, and enhance their quality of life.
About you
Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.
Experience in upholding Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
Minimum 4 years Paediatric experience.
Experience caring for children with complex chronic health needs.
NZ driving license.
Proven leadership skills.
