This is a temporary role for 12 months covering maternity leave. The Clinical Nurse Coordinator leads people, systems, processes and resources to deliver effective and efficient care and services to meet the needs of patients and their whanau. This includes but is not limited to management of staff during the shift, allocation of care and resources and demonstrating professional leadership. This position covers afternoon and weekend shifts. This role requires the successful candidate to be: A Registered Nurse with a current Practicing Certificate within the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a minimum of 4 years of experience in an acute mental health setting – have excellent Mental State Examination and Risk Assessment skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Perceived as highly effective, progressive and knowledgeable in a mental health setting, in accordance with legal, ethical, cultural safety and professional standards. Must have a good knowledge of the Mental Health Act (1992). Coaching and mentoring skills. Ability to support and implement change. A commitment to quality and excellence with proven ability to contribute to process improvement. Ability to uphold the Te Whatu Ora Te Ahu values.
