Vet Services Dannevirke is part of a group of four veterinary clinics across Hawkes Bay and Southern Hawkes Bay. The Dannevirke Clinic services the wider Tararua region and deals with animals of all shapes and sizes from pocket pets through to sire bulls. Our fantastic team of more than 20 have a huge amount of experience and passion for all things animal related. They provide a comprehensive veterinary service for our clients, their animals and are passionate about Dannevirke and the local community.

We are looking for an awesome all-rounder who is comfortable with all aspects of staff and client management, day to day clinic operations as well as other management tasks. As Clinic Manager, you will be responsible for:
Day to day running of the clinic
Driving new work into the clinic
Following leads of new work
Exploring new work opportunities
Recruitment of new staff
Meeting with suppliers
Managing the team and their career development
Liaising with clients
Working with department team leaders to ensure the smooth running of clinic operations
The successful applicant will possess the following attributes:
Excellent communicator and demonstrated leadership and HR skills
Experience in managing teams of people
Understands the basic fundamentals of employment law
Customer service driven and willingness to provide the best possible in-clinic experience
Excellent understanding of business profitability drivers and ability to affect change to achieve desired outcomes
Comfortable with chasing client debt in line with internal policies alongside clinic co-coordinator
High level understanding of databases and ability to extract and analyse data
High standard of computer literacy with various programs
Basic knowledge of farming systems and associated technology
The ability to function in a team and work well under pressure
Proven time management and prioritisation skills
A tertiary qualification is desired, preferably linked to management, however qualification by experience will also be viewed favorably
