Portfield School is a unique provision to support children aged 4-19 in a personalised and supportive environment that allows our students to be the best they can be.
To be considered for this role, you need to have either Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an ECT (Early Career Teacher).
The role
As a primary class teacher, you will support students with special educational needs, specifically autism, within our primary phase. You will work with our students to teach and guide them through their educational journey.
The role involves teaching a mixed class of year 2 and 3, learning a lower level key stage 2. We have 8 students in the class, some are verbal, and some are non-speaking. They love outdoor play, messy play, and cooking. They are working to develop their communication, reading, writing, and mathematical skills. As some of our students have grown together, there are some lovely friendship groups within the class.

Utilise our incredible specialist facilities, such as our therapy pool, sensory rooms, Forest school, roundhouse, and smuga to incorporate inspiring environments to learn in.

About You
For this primary phase of learning, we are looking for someone who:

Demonstrates clear communication.
Is full of enthusiasm and lots of energy.
