Civil Senior Project Manager

I am currently working with a well-established civil construction firm who is looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Project Manager to join their Christchurch or Auckland based team.This role is ideal for a natural leader and strategic thinker who can balance project planning, budget management, and team collaboration while consistently delivering high-quality results.
The successful candidate will be adept at fostering strong client relationships and ensuring a culture of safety and compliance.They are heavily involved in key infrastructure, with a portfolio including Transport, Marine, Water Supply and Energy Utility projects.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Leadership: Take full ownership of project schedules, budgets, and resources, ensuring each phase is completed on time and within budget.Team Collaboration: Engage with various team members—from site supervisors to subcontractors—ensuring seamless communication and progress toward project goals.Client Relations: Act as the main client liaison, providing regular updates and addressing concerns, to maintain positive and productive relationships.Budget Oversight: Monitor spending, keep project costs within limits, and look for ways to maximize value without sacrificing quality.Risk Assessment: Anticipate and manage potential issues, implementing proactive measures to keep projects on track.Safety Standards: Prioritize and enforce safety measures on-site, adhering to all industry regulations and company standards.Quality Control: Ensure every project meets the company's high standards and client expectations through regular site checks and quality reviews.RequirementsBE (Civil) OR (Mechanical), Washington Accord accredited15+ years of NZ based experience in civil construction with a focus on technical infrastructure projectsStrong grasp of construction project management software and processes.Proven track record managing projects upward of $30M, with a focus on quality and efficiency.Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.The ability to demonstrate leadership across a team settingFinancial management and budgeting expertiseStrong client relationship-building skillsWhat's on OfferCompetitive remuneration package based on experience, including vehicle, phone & laptopAdditional company benefits including health insurance, Extra parental leave, and select retail discountsBe a part of a high performing and impactful environment with room for growth at every turn!This role is an exciting opportunity for a driven Senior Project Manager to contribute to meaningful projects within a supportive and highly skilled team.
