Carpenter

Location: Wellington and Christchurch (you will be required to work at both locations)

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Carpenter to join our team. This role involves working on-site in both Wellington and Christchurch.
Main tasks & responsibilitiesUse carpentry tools and equipment, as well as handlingcarpentry materialUnderstands and applies quality control techniques Install andreplace windows and doorsInstall flooring systems, construct wall frames, constructceiling frames, erect roof trussesRefurbish timber sashes to window framesConstruct pitched roofs, eaves and advanced roofsConstruct, erect and dismantle formwork for stairs and rampsCut and bend materials using oxy-LPG equipment.Carry out general demolition of minor building structuresErect and dismantle formwork to suspended slabs, columns, beams and walls, and for footings and slabs on groundErect and dismantle slip as well as jump from formworkPlan and organise work, carry out measurements, calculations, read and interpret plans and specificationsApply workplace health and safety requirements, policies andprocedures in the construction industry.Is able to inspect products and/or materials for conformity with established operational standards.Assists in the provision of on-the-job training.
The successful candidate will have:Minimum 3 years of relative experience in construction industry• Positive approach toward teamwork• Good communication skills and attention to details
