About the Role
The role of the Carpenter is accountable for layout, installation, repairing, finishing, and maintaining various structures, fixtures, and buildings. Other duties will include designing, cutting, and measuring materials according to a client's requirements.
This role is permanent full-time with a guarantee of 30 hours per week and may include weekend work as and when required.
What does this look like?
Undertake tasks in direct relation to the project plan supplied by the Site Manager.
Competently read, assess and interpret project blueprints.
Assisting site leadership with structural design, planning, layout, and installation.
Conduct repair work and installation of doors, windows, drywall, cabinet, stairs, and other fixtures as required.
Undertake construction tasks to the quality and speed expected of an experienced carpenter.
Ensure all carpentry work is compliant with local building codes, and health and safety regulations.
Report any construction or client concerns to the Site Manager.
What do you need to succeed?
New Zealand Certificate in Carpentry (Level 4) or 3+ years' experience in Carpentry.
Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
Ability to work autonomously whilst keeping relevant parties informed.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
