The timely delivery of capital and renewal programmes is key to our success.You'll have responsibility for tendering procurement, managing consultants & contractors, financial budgets, and being the interface between the project being commissioned and asset delivery.Further accountabilities include:Maintaining exceptional Health & Safety standards at all times.Ensuring all projects comply with Council's engineering specifications.Delivering professional engagement with and management of service providers/stakeholders.In this varied role, working to tight timeframes and budgets will be second nature to you, as will being able to communicate simply and clearly to everyone from community boards to members of the public. This role can be quite hands-on at times, i.e., conducting site inspections, so a current clean Driver's License is essential.To be successful in this role, we need someone who brings:Professional engineering and project management qualification, or equivalent experience essential.BE, MEngNZ, CPEng would be an advantage.At least 5 years' experience working in transportation engineering and project management.Thorough knowledge of road construction, the statutory framework, and engineering principles.Local government experience is desirable.A passion for Project Management and Contract management.Knowledge and experience of NZTA standards and specifications.Proven interpersonal skills to obtain collaboration and cooperation.The ability to prioritise duties and work to deadlines.The ability to remain resilient and calm under pressure.Enthusiasm and commitment to excellence in customer service.Understanding of the various cultures within the district.Highly developed documentation, report, and workflow process writing skills.Far North District Council is a progressive and growing Council filled with like-minded people who love what they do and are committed to providing superior services to residents in their community.You will also be given all the tools of the trade to hit the ground running:Learning & Development plan to ensure your ongoing growth and success within the organisation.The salary for this position is Grade 17 within Council's salary structure (Band: $89,758 - $105,598 per annum) dependent on qualifications and experience, plus Kiwi Saver.We offer hybrid working and flexible work arrangements.Free $100,000 life insurance scheme (conditions apply).Free Will package, so that if the unexpected happens your family is supported.Creating Great Places, Supporting our People #J-18808-Ljbffr
