About the Role (your why) The Business Development Manager is responsible for sourcing relationships with clients and key decision makers to develop business opportunities for a new sector, product, service, solution or client. This role will focus on delivering new business growth and targeting net new clients by developing long-term relationships, working with the appropriate internal bid teams and building alliances with key partners.
What you'll do Overseeing the development of strategic market/product line business plans and marketing programs to support sales in designated market segments.Identifying volume and strategic clients; developing partnerships, planning and prioritising personal sales activities and prospect contact towards achieving agreed business goals, including sales.Representing the interests of Datacom in the sale of managed services, project services, IT infrastructure, maintenance, software and other solutions.Planning and managing your territory according to an agreed market development strategy. Developing and implementing client and prospect account plans that will result in sales of Datacom products and services at agreed prices and terms.Planning and supporting local marketing activities to agreed budgets and timelines and integrating personal sales efforts with other organised marketing activities.Qualifying new opportunities according to Datacom's Sales Development Model based on current go-to-market strategies and target market objectives.Responding to sales enquiries using appropriate methods.Attending and presenting at external client meetings as well as internal meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business development.What you'll bring Understanding of technologies and services that are delivered by Datacom. Knowledge of the Outsourced IT services market and Infrastructure project requirements.Knowledge of finance management practices with a clear understanding of the relationship between costs, utilisation and project revenue.Strong business acumen.5+ years of sales experience.Proven track record of achieving or exceeding budgeted sales and profit objectives.Financial management, including cost estimation and budget tracking and reporting.Ability to manage complex issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors.Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.Establishes and assures adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements.Prevents erroneous decisions to avoid critical delays in schedules and/or unit operations that may jeopardise overall business activities.Ability to frequently interact with a variety of stakeholders and team members.Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organisational goals and objectives.Proven negotiating skills with the aptitude to ensure win/win situations for all parties.Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts and align them with client business goals and objectives.Proven analytical and numerical skills. Excellent client relationship building and management skills. Strong influencing and persuasive ability. Effective presentation skills with the ability to convey technical information across various levels.Strong verbal and written communication skills with a wide variety of stakeholders.Strong consultative and planning skills.Experience selling into Government would be highly regarded (but not essential).Why join us here at Datacom?
