The Downstream Division of Todd Corporation consists of four entities; Nova Energy, megaTel, Sunergise and Todd Generation. We have office locations in Auckland, Wellington, Tauranga, Whakatane, New Plymouth, Christchurch and Dunedin.
About the Role:
The Business Development Manager is accountable for leading the development of ground, rooftop and other types of commercial and industrial scale solar projects in New Zealand.
Key responsibilities include:
Lead the Todd Solar sales function to develop new business opportunities and to see that these opportunities are pursued to their maximum potential.
Manage the legal and technical due diligence process.
Negotiate the relevant project contracts: NDA, exclusivity, Lease, PPA and SPA (as required).
Development of long term relationships with site owners, energy users and other project stakeholders.
Preparing financial models to assess the returns of a project.
About You:
Minimum 3-5 years experience in a business development role (Solar / Renewables) an advantage.
Relevant tertiary (Degree qualification) (Engineering / Business / Finance)
Project Management Qualification an advantage
Certification by a professional management body (preferred).
Demonstrated experience in delivering medium to large scale solar PV construction installation and commissioning projects with an ability to manage the entire project development process with various stakeholders.
Experience with contract negotiation and project development.
Experience developing financial models.
Strong understanding of commercial activities including funding arrangements and legal requirements.
Proven track record of delivering growth in a new market.
Demonstrated negotiation and communication skills.
Technical understanding of solar, energy markets and financial modelling.
Strong understanding of commercial activities including funding arrangements and legal requirements.
Excellent communication, organisation and leadership skills.
Proficient at MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Project
Ability to present and explain renewable energy products to potential clients.
