We are seeking a dedicated and organised Business and Events Co-Ordinator to join our Marketing Team. You will be at the forefront of promoting Manawatu as a prime destination for conferences and business events. You will play a pivotal role in showcasing the region's unique strengths, collaborating with local venues, and attracting national and international business events to elevate the profile of Manawatu. This role offers a great opportunity to make a significant impact on the region's reputation and economic growth.
This is a full-time role, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
(There may be occasional work outside of standard hours when attending conferences, trade shows or other key events).
Your focus in this role will include:
Actively marketing Manawatu as a leading destination for business events.
Executing strategies to attract conferences and events that align with regional growth sectors.
Building strong relationships with local venues.
Creating and submitting compelling bids for conferences and events.
We are looking for a proactive and passionate individual with a background in marketing or sales, who can connect with a diverse range of stakeholders and drive the growth of business events in our region.
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills and experience:
A bachelor's degree, preferably with a focus on marketing or sales.
An understanding of the business event and conference industry.
Exceptional relationship-building and networking skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, with an eye for detail.
Competency or willingness to upskill in tikanga Maori and te reo Maori.
