Business Analyst & Delivery Support

Details of the offer

Company Description: At MadeCurious, we have a wide range of customers, but we specialise in meaningful public sector work, which will not only have a positive impact on communities (and government), but will enable them to adapt in a fast-changing world. We create systems and software for our partners to solve challenging and meaningful problems in various domains. We support, maintain and enhance those products over the whole SDLC to ensure they keep delivering value over the long haul. If you're up for a challenge and want to be surrounded by awesome colleagues who care deeply about what they do, you're looking in the right place. About the Role: We are seeking someone with technical business analysis experience who is happiest translating customer needs into defined requirements, and supporting engineers to understand what needs to be done - all while championing the 'why'. We need somebody who loves understanding how systems work, who is confident in building relationships with customers & stakeholders, gathering requirements, linking those to architecture and software functionality, and then collaborating with our engineers to ensure we are building the right thing. This role requires someone to become a dynamic and curious member of our "Partner outcomes" function within an agile team. At MadeCurious these roles come together to support a cross-functional software delivery team over the whole customer value stream. They combine a blend of commercial acumen and product vision with the skills to support the delivery of user-centric software solutions. It would be particularly advantageous if you had previous experience in delivery (project) management, experience working in an agile (scrum) team and/ or a passion for quality assurance. Key Tasks: Performing solutions analysis, translating and documenting functional and non-functional requirements Leading or facilitating workshops or meetings in order to gather information from customer representatives & stakeholders; Building wireframes, prototypes & mockups. Working with software engineers to understand technical details and proposing solutions to changes, defect fixes and operational issues over the whole SDLC; Contributing to the design of business processes, user and system interfaces, and system integrations; Collaborating with Architects and Engineers to produce specifications for solutions we build. Building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Building product roadmaps & backlogs. Skills, Experience & Education: To be effective in this role you will require relevant professional experience working with agile software development teams. You will need at least 2 years' experience as a business analyst with direct experience eliciting and converting business & functional requirements into use cases, epics, and user stories with acceptance criteria ready for developers to address. Any exposure within the Azure or AWS Cloud environments would also be beneficial. It would be appealing if you had a background in delivery management, testing/QA exposure and/or experience as a Product Manager/Product Owner or similar role. You will absolutely need: Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects at a time. Strong problem solving and analytical skills. We know that a lack of confidence can sometimes hold us back from applying for a job, we also know there's no such thing as the 'perfect' candidate. Our employment philosophy is to look for the right people and do what it takes to get them on board and keep them around. We invest in the right people to help realise their potential. So, even if your skills & experience don't feel like a perfect match, we'll help the right person to grow into the requirements of this position. What We Offer: A challenging role that combines aspects of Product Management and Product Ownership, infused with an entrepreneurial edge. While you will need to bring analysis skills to the team, this is not a narrowly defined analysis role. A culture of innovation, where your ideas and contributions are valued and encouraged. Comprehensive benefits package, flexible working conditions, and a commitment to work-life balance About us: We cherish our culture, so every hire we make is carefully considered. If you're tempted to join the team, be sure to read about us and make sure we're aligned. We are an equal-opportunities employer, we don't just accept our differences, we celebrate our diversity and grow through sharing our unique experiences and perspectives. We are wholeheartedly committed to creating an inclusive environment that offers each of us the chance to thrive. How to Apply: If this role sounds like one that might make you excited to come into work every day, go ahead, write us a covering letter telling us who you are, why you'd be a great fit for this role, and what you bring to the table. Please note: This role will be based in our Christchurch office, so being based in New Zealand with the right to work here is key. Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa. (no recruiters please)
