Breast and Cervical Screening Kaimahi Registered Nurse Are you passionate about Women's health, and providing accessible and safe service?

This great opportunity being 20 hours a week, fixed term is a role focused on increasing accessibility to screening, assessment and treatment services for priority women in a culturally safe, flexible and mobile way that enables women to make choices which improves access and participation for women.
This will include personal and practical support for individual and groups of women.
You will need to work collaboratively with key stakeholders as well as engage with and undertake community activities to raise awareness and participation in both the Breast and Cervical Screening programs.
In this role you will also need to be a current cervical sample taker or be willing to undertake the training and provide sample taking clinics.
It will also be important that you are able to work in a planned efficient manner in line with the annual plan for the service.
Ideally you will also have the following abilities: Excellent interpersonal and strong communication skills with ability to effectively communicate with a diverse range of people at all levels.
A commitment to women's health.
Experience working in Maori, Pasifika communities with strong community linkages.
Demonstrate cultural awareness and commitment to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi.
Knowledge of Tikanga/Tikaka Maori and Pasifika.
Have ability to work independently and collaboratively with health professionals, individuals and community groups, able to efficiently schedule and plan meetings to provide effective communication, education and support.
The ability to liaise with staff across the service and support them in their roles as required to provide a well organised, efficient and women-focused service.
Understanding of health promotion principles and practice in a community setting.
Continuous improvement focus and collaborative mindset to deliver better outcomes.
Excellent time management skills, be self-motivated and able to work in a precise and accurate manner, particularly under pressure.
Have the ability to be flexible with your hours to best meet the needs of our priority women.
Computer competency in Microsoft Office, Word and Excel.
Ability to quickly learn relevant computer systems and databases.
Hold a current full driver's license and confident to travel alone around the Southern region with a willingness to transport and support clients to appointments.
Qualifications required: For this role you will need to be a Registered Nurse with Primary Care or Community experience with a current APC.
A current Cervical Smear sampler - consideration will be given to a RN who would be interested in being supported to undertake the training.
Please note, appointment to this position will be conditional on a satisfactory Police Vetting and Risk Assessment as per the Children's Act 2014.
